The Worship Team is looking for musicians: bass, drums, piano and especially guitar players. If you love The Lord and want to serve Him using your instrument, especially guitar, stop up at the stage and see Tyler Rohlfsen any Sunday or call him at 402.333.6464.

Food Service

Food Service supports an environment where opportunities are offered for people to feel welcome and meet new friends. Food and drink are an important part of community and relationship building. It can create a warm, inviting and belonging sense to each person participating. We can use your help with: planning, shopping, preparation, set up/take down, hospitality, and serving.

Embrace Teachers

Embrace teachers

Embrace Teachers honors the teachers with encouraging notes, donations of much needed school supplies, Parent/Teacher Conference meals, and other little surprises throughout the school year. For all Embrace Teachers serving opportunities, contact Cheryl B. at 402.330.4824 or by email.

 

Appreciation Team

Help plan appreciation ideas: provide, prepare, and implement them to honor teachers and staff.

Food Team

Serve on a team that supplies, prepares and serves food and/or baked treats that support teachers on a Parent/Teacher conference night. Meals are twice a school year, once in the fall and once in the spring. Baked treats for other occasional projects. Growth groups encouraged to serve together.

Delivery Team

Deliver items such as school supply donations, gifts, food, etc to the schools, as needed.

Encouragement Writers

Write encouraging notes to the teachers and staff. Note cards andn postage provided.

Prayer Partner/Prayer Team

Pray for teachers, staff, students, and neighborhoods from our eight schools, as well as our Embrace Teachers Leaders.

School Volunteers

Volunteer in one of the schools we support. Assist the teacher by working with students needing extra attention with school work or simply help the teacher with bulletin boards, copies, organization, etc.

Care Ministries

An Angel’s Touch

We provide, on the 4th Wednesday of the month, at 3pm, a Bible lesson, crafts, music, and a time of reminiscing and caring for Alzheimer’s patients who live in a residential-type care facility.

Care & Prayer for Expectant Moms

This team provides special care and prayer during pregnancies, and sometimes, after babies are born.

This team is led by Shirley Christiansen, 402.571.3191.

Edgewood Vista Ministry

We provide, on the 3rd Sunday of the month, at 2pm, a mini-“worship service”, music, crafts, and activities to help the Alzheimer’s patients know God, to reminisce, and to feel cared for.

Encouragement Greeting Card Ministry

Members of this team write and mail out greeting cards to the ill, grieving, shut-in.

Hearts of Worship (Inside Out Ministry)

A ministry where people take their voices to bless others with the gift of music.

This ministry is managed by Sarah Chvala.

Music on the Move

A new ministry where King of Kings people take their musical instruments and/or their voices to bless shut-ins with the gift of music.

This ministry is led by Cal & Kathy Miller and Paula Gibilisco.

Sacred Stitches

Members of this team make much appreciated prayer blankets and prayer shawls to be given to the ill.

The team is led by Deb McCaslin, 402.334.3162.

Visitation

We visit with those who are ill and with their family members, before, during, and after hospitalizations, and also with those who are shut-in, both permanently and temporarily. We do this for King of Kings Members, guests, for LCMS members from outside Omaha, and for all who ask.

Visitation Meal Ministry

Members of this team prepare and deliver meals, providing loving support to those who are sick or recently released from the hospital.

This team is led by Julie Seevers, 402.415.3207.

Safety & Security

Safety and Security Team

The Safety and Security Team serves during Sunday morning worship and occasionally other special events. This team serves to provide a safe and secure environment by establishing a presence throughout the building and providing assistance for building or medical emergencies. The volunteer commitment is one Sunday a month.

 

Outside Security (Parking Lot) Team

The Parking Team serves during the Sunday morning services by directing traffic and coordinating with the security team by watching for the unusual. The volunteer commitment is one Sunday a month.

 

First Aid Attendant

 A First Aid team member serves during Sunday services and occasionally other special events by providing the first response to the medical needs on the King of Kings campus. The volunteer commitment is one session a month.
