WE
TRANSFORM
LIVES

+ + +

We know that there is no greater calling than to be part of what God is doing in this world. We want to join Him on His mission of transforming hearts and lives.

In a world of instant communication, lived in the solitary glow of a tiny screen or drive-through window, we long for more.

+ + +

We long to connect to the sacred and transcendent, to know others and be deeply known, and to change the world in ways that only we were born to do.

We understand these longings because we have them, too. King of Kings, we transform lives through connection: connection to God, connection to each other, and connection to our world.

When we envision what it means to transform lives, we see deepening connections:

+ + +

connection to God, connection to each other, and connection to our world.

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

Romans 12:2 ESV

CONNECTION
TO GOD

We are bombarded with messages every day that tell us we are not enough – not rich enough, not attractive enough, not successful enough. These messages place our worth in what’s on the outside. Life feels like a race with no end in sight, and creates people who are worn out, stressed out, and jaded.

God’s life-giving message is that you are precious and of great value to Him. His love for you is so profound that He sent His son Jesus to live and die on your behalf. When you receive this great gift, you are no longer disconnected from God, but connected to Him as a loved and forgiven child. As this truth takes root in your life, it transforms everything. It changes your outlook. It changes your pace. It changes your relationships. It changes your heart. At King of Kings, we seek to transform lives through a deep understanding of our true value and identity in Jesus and all He has done for us.

We also seek to transform the idea of how God fits into life. We envision life with God as much more than a Sunday morning worship service or a quick prayer before a meal. We see people in a dynamic relationship with God, where God’s presence is woven into the fabric of the everyday. Work, school, home, and everywhere in between become places to encounter God in powerful ways. Worship becomes how we live our lives, not just a place we visit on a Sunday. And the ordinary transforms into something extraordinary, brimming with the greatness and beauty of God Himself.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

John 13:34-35 ESV

CONNECTION
TO EACH
OTHER

The world is busy today and more crowded than ever. We run from one activity to another and wonder if all the stuff we’re doing translates into anything of value. We long to develop deeper, more meaningful relationships, not just expand our networks. We want to have time to be our authentic selves, ask challenging questions, think about God, and hear what He is saying to us. And when our lives become overwhelming, our greatest hope is for a listening ear and someone to come alongside us in our hour of desperation.

At King of Kings, we envision a church transformed by the power of love and belonging. A warm and welcoming community where people listen, care, and have a genuine interest in each other. A church where fun and laughter are the norm and newcomers feel immediately at home.

We know that it can be easy to slip in and out of church without making a connection. That’s why we value meeting together in smaller groups. Groups like this provide an opportunity to live life together: exploring God’s Word, talking about where you see God working in your life, praying, and serving together. It’s a way to know others and to be deeply known, making church seem much more personal.

And, finally, we are intent on creating a culture of care. We want people to feel equipped and empowered to pray for each other in the moment. We want people to know about our abundant care and counseling resources and share them with those who are hurting. Most of all, we want to acknowledge that we are all a work in progress, sharing our journeys with authenticity and honesty, knowing that God can make all things beautiful in His time.

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

Ephesians 2:10 ESV

CONNECTION
TO OUR WORLD

It doesn’t take more than a quick glance at the news to know that we live in a challenging world. Moments of grace, compassion, and peace can be hard to come by and not often celebrated. Yet those rare and shining qualities are the keys that unlock the door to people’s hearts, making them curious about the source of that kind of remarkable love.

We want to take up that mantle. We want to be people who venture out into the world with equal measures of boldness and kindness, who look beyond ourselves to join Jesus on His mission. We are honored that He wants to use our hands and feet to change the world, and we look for ways to do this, both as individuals and as a church. We see ourselves as vital contributors to God’s mission in the world, rather than simply consumers of what He can give us.

We all have been given particular gifts, talents, and ways of seeing the world. When we use these gifts, our church becomes a powerful and multi-faceted picture of the heart of God, reaching and blessing more people than we ever could alone. When we extend hands of mercy and kindness, we draw people to ourselves and, ultimately, to the God who loves us all deeply. This is His Plan A, and He has no other.

“HIS PLAN A

THIS IS OUR
PURPOSE

At King of Kings, our purpose is more than three words on a page. It is a beacon, a rallying cry, and the reason we get up in the morning. God’s transforming love inspires us to enjoy our time with Him, to bless and encourage each other, and to impact the world in ways He has uniquely called us to.

WE TRANSFORM LIVES

The beauty and truth of this statement is twofold.

First, we acknowledge that we do not bring about any kind of transformation on our own; rather, it is all a work of God. When Jesus lives in us, He changes us from the inside out, forever. He places in our hearts the desire to know Him, love Him, and reach the world with His message of saving love. We are joining Him in His great work in the world, not venturing out on our own, so we look to the wisdom and power of God to start, sustain, and bring to fruition all that we do.

Second, we understand that transformation never ends. From a person just beginning their journey with God to someone who has been sharing life with God for a long time, we are all in a never-ending, always growing relationship with God and others. There is always more to learn and experience, and that excites us.

Our values support our purpose and shape the culture of our church. God has given us a bold purpose, and we feel we can best honor and deliver on that purpose through our

VALUES.

+ + +

Reliant

We depend on God.
We earnestly seek God for direction, grace, and power in all we do. We look to God’s Word as both our foundation and guide. We pray with expectation and place our hope in God alone.

Authentic

We share our lives.
We are honest and transparent about ourselves and our journey. We don’t hide or pretend. Our vulnerability is a gift that we give to others and is inspired by Jesus’ love and humility.

Courageous

We take new ground.
We pray boldly, even outrageously, knowing that nothing is too big for God. We stop at nothing to reach people who don’t know Jesus and are excited to take our place on the front lines with God as He furthers His Kingdom in the world.

Generous

We love others well.
We believe that giving comes in many forms. When we give freely of the time, talents, resources, and love that God so freely gave to us, we transform the world, one person at a time.

These are our guiding principles. This is who we are, how we live, and why we exist. This is how we join God’s mission to draw all hearts to Himself through

JESUS CHRIST

We stand together as one church, unified and passioate about knowing and loving God in all of life, welcoming and honoring each other, and stepping with mercy into our world. With great joy and confidence, trusting God in all we do, we transform lives. + + +
