Student Edge in Guatemala! UPDATE: “God is doing more than we could ever ask for!”

42554 If you’ve been following the blog from our Student Edge team in Guatemala, you’d know that God is doing amazing things there through our mission team. Here is an excerpt of their blog post from June 8th written by Ashley Aamot: “Once we got to Calderas, we split into two groups (each with a translator and either Pastor Rafael or his wife) and went into the community and visited people in need. The photo (above) is of a woman named Wendy (just like one of our leaders! Coincidence, I think not) who fractured her foot. Student Edge in Guatemala!

5180   A passionate group of King of Kings Sr High students are currently ministering to a small village in Guatemala! The students are primarily focused on praying with and evangelizing to the Guatemalan people. Kids Kount raised $500 and LWML granted $125 so that team could purchase groceries and distribute them to people in the area who are in need. Keep the team in your prayers as God moves through these students and pray that many would come to know and love Jesus in Guatemala. Check out the team’s blog as they keep us updated about their trip! https://www.prayingpelicanmissions.org/journals?tripid=5180  …

mlhis famed image of Martin Luther (1483–1546) is from the workshop of Lucas Cranach the Elder (1472–1553). Through their personal friendship, Cranach was Luther’s unofficial “portraitist.” While serving in Wittenberg, Cranach produced paintings, woodcuts, and engravings, both sacred and secular. He utilized his God-given gifts both to create art for the sake of beauty and also to further his Protestant faith. A Lutheran understanding of vocation (calling) recognizes that “serving God” is not simply for professional church workers. By God’s design, we are part of the priesthood of all believers: “You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession, that you may declare the exellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 1:9).
