Over 20 million people around the world have experienced the lessons Alpha brings to them, and members of the congregation experienced an even bigger lesson and adventure by attending the Alpha retreat on Oct. 17-18, 2014.

The retreat was held in the Worship Center with the same format the Alpha follows on Wednesday nights. Linda Hall said everyone came in that Friday night and enjoyed some snacks before diving into the lessons and discussions about the Holy Spirit.

Hall said that Alpha, “Was fabulous.” She said that you sit at a table and build relationships with other people. “You learn how to communicate while using the Holy Spirit as a guide to get everyone comfortable with those around them.”

Hall’s job at Alpha and the Alpha retreat is to work as a facilitator. That means that she keeps the conversation alive at her table. She recalled one woman who attends Alpha every week who is in a wheelchair. “Her daughter brings her every week,” she said.

At the retreat everyone discussed the work of God in their lives, even if they don’t realize the work he is doing. They talked about learning how to appreciate the work he does in order to develop a stronger relationship with God as Christians.

Hall said she encourages everyone to try Alpha.
