Guest blogger: Jerome Tanhueco – Easter Egg Hunt at the Fort Street Neighborhood
Hi everyone! This past Saturday we had a great time at our house hanging out with the neighborhood kids. We decorated Easter baskets, created flower cards, ate snacks, ran relay races, sack bag races, had a hula hoop competition, and a Easter egg hunt. We also served chili for dinner, cinnamon rolls (provided by Sue and Kal from King of Kings), and macaroni and cheese bake (provided by Janet, who also lives in our neighborhood).
While talking with the kids, we found out that for some of them this had been their first Easter egg hunt! Some asked if they could keep the baskets and we replied YES! After I dropped off one of the girls at her house, she asked me why do I hand out flyers and do this kind of stuff and I simply replied, ‘because I love Jesus and I love everyone’.
Also last Sunday at King of Kings I met one of your attendees who said she was touched by our story. She presented me with a $50 check which paid for all the expenses of Saturday’s activities. Thank God!
