Director of Worship Announced

Hello King of Kings family,

As announced this weekend, we have filled the position of Director of Worship. After much prayer, discussion and planning, the Leadership of King of Kings has extended an offer to Tyler Rohlfsen to be our Director of Worship and he has accepted!

In mid-July we were prompted to ask the question, “Is God moving at this time to fill the position of Director of Worship?” Remember…we had said since January 2012 that we were not going to actively seek names and candidates but wait on the Lord to show us. He certainly did! Events unfolded that prompted us to have conversation with two candidates. One was Tyler. But could Tyler still get his degree and assume the role of Director of Worship? Yes. This is how it will work.

This fall Tyler will study for a semester at the University of St. Andrew in Scotland. This continues his theological course of studies toward his degree at Baylor. In January, he will take a one-year break from classes and begin his duties here as Director of Worship. In January 2015, he will go back to Baylor and finish up his BA in Religious Studies.

One of the key leaders in Worship Ministry has been and still is Steve Roberts. Steve has done an extraordinary job as Interim Worship Director for two and a half years. He is ready and eager to continue his leadership but equally ready to endorse Tyler as the new director of the department.

Tyler is a man of character, insightful theologian and a strong leader. We have heard his vision for worship ministry and we are excited for the future!

Thank you, God. Your faithfulness indeed does reach to the heavens. May our worship as well!
