Jr. High – St. Louis Mission Trip

DSC_0112DSC_0121DSC_0117

A group of our middle school students are away this week in St. Louis. We are apart of a larger trip through Group Mission Trips.  Group sends site coordinators to stay in different cities and host different groups of students from churches across the country. This week we have students Michigan, Minnesota, Indiana, and Nebraska. This week our students are serving at a local church by doing handy work as well as serving some local area children whose parents could use some providing attention to their kids, despite the difficulties and challenges they face everyday. Our students through serving a small congregation in St. Louis are really learning that the local church is the hope of the world, cities, and even in this case a whole neighborhood. This specific church also serves as a place for adults to receive GED classes as well as for children to participate in a league of sports that are fundamentally rooted in the word of God. Together we intermingle with students from other states and go to different parts of the city to serve for the day. Afterwards we grab some dinner and head to an evening session where we are empowered to grow in our service not only in St. Louis but for the long term. We hope that God uses this trip to empower our students in serving at King of Kings. It’s our desire as a church to see all of our church family involved in service both inside and outside of the church, and we hope that our students can play a major role in creating culture that strives to serve the community and one another to reach those far from God through showing his compassion. More updates will be posted midweek and throughout the week!
