Our journey through Holy Week takes us this night to the Upper Room. It was in this Upper Room that Jesus prepared both himself and His disciples for His death. It was in this room that Jesus gave new meaning and power to two distinctive foods of the Passover meal. He broke bread and called it “my body,” He lifted the cup and called it “my blood,” thus creating an opportunity for us to have “holy communion” with Him until He returns the second time for His Church.
Join us on March 29 for Good Friday Worship at 5:30 & 7:30pm. Nursery for ages 6 weeks-35 months and Kids Church for ages 3 years-6th grade is available at 5:30 only.
Our Tenebrae worship this night comes from the Latin, meaning “darkness” or “shadows.” Worship will end with the “strepitus,” a loud harsh noise that symbolizes the tumultuous earthquake that accompanied the Lord’s death and the rolling of the stone against His tomb. After whispering the Lord’s Prayer, we leave in silence and shadows.
